Paper 2 Section B
Recently, at school, I have heard a lot of classmates talking about a new theme park that just opened up in Fort Myers. The theme park is called “Rock N’ Ridin” and is full of off-the-charts crazy coasters. Apparently, this theme park is rumored to have the most “insane rides that are better than both DisneyWorld and Universal combined.” So, last Friday night my friends and I decided to test it out and see if it was just as good as everyone makes it out to be. We then traveled thirty minutes up to Fort Myers, and when we arrived at our surprise the theme park was located right along the beach. The size of the park was massive and stretched along the coast for miles! I wondered how they could fit so many activities and people in such a small space. There was a crowd full of people waiting to get in and trying to purchase their wristbands. The cost of one wristband and a meal plan was about $50 dollars but believe me, it was well worth the price.
At Rock N’ Ridin they had rides for all age groups so no one could get bored. Some of the bigger and more popular rides for the older age group at the theme park were a set of swings that went up at least 100 feet in the air. Another one was a roller coaster that had a 300-foot drop and has five loops. These two rides were the most popular ones at the park and had a line full of people that had an estimated two-hour wait at least. Of course, they included more kid-friendly rides like the carousel and bumper cars. Which are of course a classic at every theme park. My favorite ride had to be the slingshot that shot you 300 feet in the sky which was called “Mission To The Moon.”
A whole other section of the theme park was dedicated to arcades and food if you didn’t like rides as much. The arcade included typical games such as the claw, air hockey, and walking dead. Also, mini-golf and bowling which many families and their kids enjoyed. At the end across from the arcade was a price area that included a PS5 and an Ipad Pro if you were to collect enough tickets. If you weren’t into arcade games you could also participate in darts or basketball to win a prize automatically. There were various food items to choose from at the theme park which all were mouth-watering. At one side of the park would be ribs and turkey legs. While, the other side included funnel cake, deep-fried Oreos, and ice cream. The most shocking food I found there were deep-fried pickles. With the meal plan, one single meal was free every hour, but without this, the costs weren’t too bad and were around $10 dollars and below.
At Rock N’ Ridin the people most commonly attracted I noticed were families and their kids. As well as teenagers with their friends. It not only had locals who lived in the Fort Myers area but also tourists who heard about this new upcoming park through other people. I felt like the theme park was a great place to be whether you’re visiting or just need something to do with your friends. All the rides had all the safety precautions and there were all options to choose from. The park included a little bit of something for everyone and wasn’t too expensive. Everyone at the theme park had a great time and I couldn’t imagine any complaints. There still is room for improvement and they could add more attractions in a bigger space but however, I would definitely recommend going to Rock N’ Ridin again.

ReplyDeleteHi Mallory,
DeleteTo start off, I didn’t see any grammatical or language errors. You stayed on task throughout your whole writing. The structure you seemed to follow was chronological order. You started off by talking about how it was like to get in and then ended with talking about the type of food they serve. From your writing you can tell that the audience is engaged. You had a really great blog. I give you 19/25 marks
